Tagged! A game that lets you know a few facts about Blue

1) Blue had the hiccups every night like clockwork at 11pm.
2) She waited until they were ready to do a c-section on me and then came out naturally. Stubborn little thing.
3) She loves sea creatures. Fish mesmerize her.

5) Her first favorite food was sweet potatoes.
6) Blue has been active in Yoga since before birth. She can even stand on one leg without holding anything.

Starting Blue Early

I am Canadian, so it's especially important to me that Blue has a love of snow. I think that D and I should start as early as possible fine tuning her love of cold weather. This is me when Blue was in my tummy. I was only two months pregnant. She is now 1 and a half and loves the snow! It worked! The first picture is me catching snowflakes on my tongue. The second is of Nana and myself making snow angels. It runs in our blood.

Blue's eating buddy

My sweet bird, Butter, died yesterday. He was Blue's eating buddy whenever we visited at Nana and Papa's. (This was my home too until I married two years ago) Blue is only 18 months old so it's sad for me to think that she won't remember him, but I hope somewhere in her subconscious he will always be there. Butter will be truly missed. I loved him dearly.

tub time

This is Blue in the sink for a bath. She likes taking winnie the pooh and piglet with her. According to her rules, if she has to have one, they have to have one.

Ok someone now knows she is cute and is working it!

Belated (yet quite enjoyable) Christmas photos

Poor little peanut was all tuckered out on the way there.
Blue discovered the joy of balloons.

Blue and her cousin in Christmas jammies. Nana provides them every Christmas Eve.

This is my sister's idea of charging rent to my Gramma. A nice massage. She deserves it. My sister is several months pregnant.

My Gramma turned 100 this past Dec. 20. I really want Ella to know her well. She lives in Toronto with my sister and brother0in-law.

hyper sheep

There is nothing as sweet as finally seeing your child sleep through the night when they have suffered so many before. Of course when Blue is up, I am up. At one point it had been four nights and I had gotten less than 4 hours total. I then called the doctor. I wasn't feeling really chipper so there were no pleasantries out of my mouth. I shot, " look I need this kid to sleep. Either we knock her out with drugs or I am going to lose my mind." He chuckled a little at me. I wanted to smack him throught the phone. He said that she wasn't eating and crabby because she wasn't sleeping and that it was a repetitive downward spiral. He said that I could give Blue benadryl. ( she had a runny nose too so I ddin't feel guilty at all) That night I gave her the stuff and held my breath. SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT. It was a miracle. I almost called the doctor back the next day to thank him. She woke up so much happier and hungry. YAY! And second to that I finally got to sleep.

whooped

Blue has me entirely wrapped around my finger. With her fever lately she has gotten more tlc. She thanks me in her own funny way. Today she hugged me, looked me square in the eye, squished my cheeks and said, "ma". (think about the sound you make when you blow a kiss) I melt of course and she can have the world. Smart little cookie.

102.8

I don't understand baby temperatures. Last night Blue was whimpering over the monitor. I thought it was just a reinstall. That's code that my husband and I use for put the pacifier back in. I felt her face and she was hot. Really hot. I took her temp and it was 102.8 degrees F! I knew that the world was crashing and my sweet baby must be about to melt. As calmly as I could, I went into my bedroom and screamed "get up! get up!" at my husband, D. He jumped up and handed me the phone to call the advice nurse. Apparantly this was not the world emergancy that I thought it was. Blue was just fine after a dose of tylenol and a fews hugs. The nurse said that most babies spike fevers at one time or another and what to watch out for. I'm still learning. With other children it's totally different. When you are dealing with your own child, all logic and past knowledge goes out the window. live and learn.

Diapers

Blue's diaper was so bad today that she pinched her nose closed with her fingers and continued to babble on. At least we know her sense of smell is in check.

Why do we start with animal sounds?

I laugh at the way I act when I have company around Blue I behave exactly the way that I used to make fun of other parents for. When someone is watching her, I feel this uncontrollable need to show off what Blue can do. I'm a grown adult and there I am on hands and knees saying "Blue, what does the sheep say?" ( as if somehow me acting like a sheep will get her to say it more clearly) =) She inevitably tosses me a smirk and toddles away. She does it perfectly in private and absolute silence in public. She is no one's puppet. What we do for peer validation!
