Haircuts and underwear

It was a very big weekend for the kids. Baby J got his first haircut. It wasn't easy to put it lightly, but we made it through. Now he looks like such a little boy.

Blue is now sporting her big girl underwear. She is so going to hate me someday for this picture, but its a huge moment in her life.

The Pacifier Fairy

Late in the night, on July 18th, Blue turned 4 and the Pacifier Fairy flew down to visit her. All week I had been prepping Blue that she was coming. I explained to her that a newborn needed her paci and that it only would hurt her teeth if she kept using it. The morning of her birthday she woke up to find a note. It said that the Pacifier Fairy had come to visit with the intention of collecting her paci. When the fairy checked the pacifier warehouse however, they were overstocked. All of the newborns would be taken care of. So the Pacifier Fairy made a decision. Blue could keep her paci if she put it inside something special. That way if she ever needed her paci it would be there just in a different way. The Fairy called ahead to Build-a-Bear to set up an appointment for that same day. Blue takes a stand by saying down with paci!
At Build-a-Bear
Blue picked out a monkey as her special stuffed animal. Here it is getting its stuffing.
One last look.
In it goes!
Next Blue picked out a heart and made a wish on it.
Then she heated it up so that it would be nice and warm for her monkey.
All finished.
Next they went to the tub to "wash" the monkey with air and a scrub brush.
Blue was very good at this part.
The final step was to name the monkey and print out a birth certificate. Blue chose Sarah as the monkey's name.
Happy and proud my little Blue did it! It took a lot of guts.
She knows now that paci is always there whenever she needs it. All she has to do is give Sarah a snuggle.

A.I.D.S. Walk

I love love love the A.I.D.S Walk! I do it every year. Held at Golden Gate Park in San Fransisco, it is a 10K (6.2 miles) This year they raised 3.5 million at the event alone! Shannon and I walked our booties off. By the end of the day I had walked over 10 miles. It is a wonderful chance to see families of all sorts get out for a cause.

Here I am with my favorite drag queens. They commented on how much skinnier everyone was after walking all of that way.
This guy walked to entire thing in 6 inch heels!
I colorful band to cheer us on

Belly dancers

Naked guy had on a lot of SPF. Lets just leave it at that.

This was my favorite part of the walk. Way before I started, this family began the 10k. In the yellow shirt there is a boy who was severely disabled. Step by step he walked with a family member on each arm. They took turns and cheered him on. 5 hours later when i was leaving they had just reached mile 4. Still going. Still cheering. That kid just put one foot in front of the other and kept going. It was so touching and exactly what makes these events so special.
Exhausted and me with a calf cramp, we did it!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Blue!

Today has been a great day so far! Blue woke up this morning with her room filled with balloons. For her birthday, she received books, Barbie clothes AND a new kitchen set!

It makes noises and pumps water. Lots of fun.

We went to Super Frank's this year. It has awesome themed parties. Blue had a sports theme.

Brenna (Blue's cousin)

The first hour was filled with a gymnastics obstacle course, a ball pit, speedy cars, basketball, dodge ball and a zip line.

Baby J had the most fun with the gymnastics equipment.

Gen, Ellie, Shannon and myself. It is very weird to have known each other for so long now. Life has changed so much.

D and Blue at the Zip line. Blue said that she felt ready for it when she turns 5 so she just watched that part.
D and his friends. Pat (our brother in law), Eric, Kathleen, Gen(Blue's Godmother), Tony( Blue's Godfather), and Michelle
The next hour was back in the party room where the kids had pizza and juice box's. A movie was set up as well/
